My name is Takudzwa Mupaya, born on 17 March 1994 in the garden city of Luanshya, Copperbelt, Zambia. I am a passionate person who is moved by the urge to do more and reach further. In my life change is a constant; growth is iterative, and learning is a passion. With my eagerness to learn I believe I can learn a thing or 2 from every single person I meet and above all I believe conversation yields education in all this fold I follow an intrinsic path that lets me practice non-attachment.
Where did your passion for writing come from?
I believe it comes from the world within me and as I translate that energy through conversations with others I get to manifest a lot of ideations. So basically, my passion for learning is what provokes my writing energy.
How would you describe your style of writing?
Mmmm this is a tough one, unfortunately I do not have one style of writing. Since change is a constant in my life, I would like to believe that my writing evolves with time and it rests on the art of flexibility.
Who would you say inspires you in life?
My mother inspires me, she is the reason why I am the very person I am today.
If you could give something up for a year what would it be and why?
I wouldn’t want to lie I have had my head on this for a while and it has proven to be a hard one, but I wouldn’t mind living for a year without TV.
What is your greatest achievement in life so far?
I follow an intrinsic path and the way I have turned around my life and being able to express myself in ways that brings me satisfaction, is by far my greatest achievement because I now attract what I deserve.
What inspires what you write?
My experiences inspire most of the pieces I have written. Art provokes my imagination so it’s a mixture of these two phenomena’s.
How do you know when what you have written has that thing?
The funny thing is you would never know this is it. Like I said I follow an intrinsic path, most of my writings are mainly centred on self-expression and as I write I give the words life by expressing my passion in every word. So, when I dish it out; people always come back and say, “I feel like you were talking to me”. Not that I expected it, but it gives me great pleasure to keep on doing what I do.
What is your favourite project that you have worked on?
There is a piece I wrote titled “my rhythm” it’s both, written and spoken word. In that piece I got to explain what poetry means to me, and how it has turned everything around as well as how it has redefined the life I lead right now.

What advice do you have for aspiring writers/spoken words artists?
All I can say is express your art in ways that frees your spirit and channel your energy where it’s due. With this remedy you can never go wrong. Always remember never cut your art to fit their frame, rather let them adjust their frame to fit your art.

What are you most proud of about being Zambian?
My country has an explosion of culture and the people are amazing. We are a peaceful nation and for that we stand out.
Describe a typical day in your life.
Well I have a morning routine I follow to win my mourning and my day as well, I don’t have a vibrant social life but I’m always attentive to the details.
How would you like to be remembered?
I do what I do, for satisfaction rather than recognition.
