Zimbo Son uses the power of conversation to feature interviews from African individuals from all walks of life. The goal is to raise awareness, inspire, inform, and evoke more conversation from you, the reader. The Zimbo Son journey started in 2016 with an interview featuring Kim Robinson. Back then the blog was focused on showcasing Zimbabwean talent. In 2017 the blog branched out and focus on people across Africa starting with an interview featuring Grace Senga. From 2018 to 2020 the blog went through a rebrand, changing the name to Inua, which in Swahili means to uplift. At the end of 2020 the blog went back to being called Zimbo Son , which will be the permanent name. The blog has been nominated for Afrobloggers Awards 2020 and Zim Blog Awards in 2018, 2020 and 2021. Winning in 2021 in the Arts and Culture category as well as being named Blogger of the Year. There are over 250 interviews on the blog, aiming for 300 by end of 2021. Zimbo Son continues to provide a platform to showcase African creatives and entrepreneurs.
