Who is Vanessa Chilimanzi?
Well, I never really know how to answer this even for a job interview.
I am a passionate fashion and beauty blogger, growing personal stylist with a love for everything that empowers and grows a woman. I love inspiring and challenging women, especially young woman. In a world that seems obsessed with beauty, I want to be the one who encourages young women to grow and focus more on what they can bring to the table and not to count on their looks.
Oh, and I love Vanilla chai tea. I used to be a coffee addict but not any more however I still do appreciate a good latte lol.
What/who do you treasure the most in life?
I treasure my happiness and everyone that I hold dear to my heart.
How did you get into blogging?
I realised my love for fashion at a time I was jobless, and it became an escape from my trying times however it has become a place where I document my personal style and help other women dress well for less.
What do you hope people will take away from reading your blog?
I hope people learn that it does not cost much to look good. It’s not the Gucci that makes one look good but it’s how you wear your Mr Price merchandise that exudes style.
Apart from blogging, what else do you do?
I am a 9 to 5er, studying for a Bachelor’s Degree in Business administration and I am a YouTuber as well.
What is the most important lesson life has taught you so far?
Never take anyone for granted.
How would your family and friends describe you?
I know they think I live a double life LOL.
Describe your blogging routine.
I am usually up very early around 5am/6am and this is when I draft posts. I rarely write a whole post in a day. It starts with a draft, then a photo shoot and boom a whole post is ready to go live.
What would you say to someone new to blogging or considering blogging?
They must go for it. People will always discourage you and tell you how much there are so many bloggers and you could never make it but if it’s your passion, just go for it.
What is your theme for 2018?
Loving and valuing one’s self.
What is your song right now?
Hmmm, Nasty C & Runtown – Said
Do you have bloggers that you follow, if so who and why?
I have followed Shirley B Eniang for the longest time ever. Her blog and YouTube are a depiction of my ideal Blogger’s Lifestyle. Her work ethic and dedication to her craft are impeccable.
What are you most fond of, about being Zimbabwean?
The fact that we are reasonable and civilized people.
When are you happiest?
When I am in my room, on my bed surrounded by my countless notebooks, colourful sticky notes while typing a blog post and editing photos. Bliss!
If you could give up anything for a year what would it be and why?
This is a difficult one. I only use the TV for news, so I would give that up. I can still read news online.
What opportunities have come your way because of blogging?
Umm, besides the freebies and meeting like-minded people who are all about blogging and growing the community you are just recognised by brands and the people you inspire.
How would you like to be remembered?
I would love to be remembered as the non-feminist who helped women realise their beauty that lies beneath the surface, stand for themselves and embrace their femininity.
