Who is Christina Sakala?

This is such a weird question, lol I don’t know whether to tell you about how much I like fish and lumanda. I’m a 3rd year law student who grew up a tomboy and never in my wildest dreams did I see myself modelling or even being remotely good at it. Lol

How did you get into beauty pageants/ modelling?

It kinda just happened you know. I’ve only done one pageant, Top Model of The World 2015. I auditioned and got picked. It was such an amazing experience and I’ve kept the friends I made there, but my strength is in high fashion modelling and not pageants, so that’s like runway shows, editorials etc..

Who/what can’t you live without?

For the Who part I’ll give a cliché answer, but that’s my truth, GOD. I am nothing without him and I wouldn’t be where I am today.

What is a bit tricky. Hmmm I probably would have a hard time without my books. Reading is everything.

What is the most important lesson life has taught you?

Be kind. You never know who you’re interacting with and what they are going through or even who they’ll turn out to be in the future. A little kindness goes a long way.

How would your friends and family describe you?

My little sisters say I’m nonchalant, but I think I’m the clown of the family. I’m very carefree.

What is your favourite place that your career has taken you so far?

This is close. At first thought I would think Shanghai China but I spent some time in El gouna, Egypt and that was paradise on earth.

How do you prepare yourself for photoshoots, what is your routine?

I would be lying if I said I have a strict routine to prepare. I try as much as possible to always be ready for anything. So, I’m always in the gym, dieting, etc. I always try to be well groomed, so that if something comes up I’m ready you know.

When are you happiest?

When I’m on a runway. That’s legit my happy place. I get to play characters and live my fantasy.

What are your other interests, besides modelling?

I’m all about Charity Work. I’m working with different organizations and I am also the Brand Ambassador for the Mumba Children’s Project. There’s so much that the world needs, we have so many people suffering and in need of help. My passion lies there.

If you could give up anything for a year what would it be and why?

Hmmm a year is a long time hey. Lol. Mmm let’s see…this is soooo hard lol. I can’t decide. Next!!! Lol

What is your guilty pleasure?

Jelly babies. I could eat them all year, every day. Lol

What are you most proud of, about being Zambian?

Zambians are known to be kind, friendly and good hearted. I’ve met so many foreigners and that’s what they commend us most for. Makes me proud.

What advice would you give to young and aspiring models?

Never compete with anyone other than yourself, stay true to yourself. Keep your head high and your standards higher and always put God first.

How would you like to be remembered?

Black Mother Theresa. Lol jokes jokes, bt yeah I want to be remembered more for the people lives I touched and bettered than for the things I achieved.
