My Name is Terence Sibanda AKA Represent Beats born in Bulawayo and lived a percentage of my life in SA. I am a music producer who runs a studio called The Port and I’ve been producing for at least 3 years now. I am a strong believer of Positive energies and I base all my life on that. I like anything and everything that is part of having a good time.
What is proudest achievement?
It would be the day I decided to start my own studio and pursue my passion.
Where did your passion for music come from?
I guess it’s something I was born with and the more I got exposed to the music. The more my passion for it grew.
What do you hope people will take away from listening to your music?
I am a strong believer of Positive energy, so I try as much as possible to express that through my music, so people feel good and hopeful.
What would you say makes your music unique?
It’s the fact that I’m telling a personal no one has experienced, seen, heard etc things the way I have since we’re all unique in our own way. I always paint the world according to the way I see and experience it
As an artist how important are bars for you when making a track?
For me it’s not about bars but more about telling a story that people can relate to and triggering emotions of the listener be it good emotions or bad emotions people need to engage with the music. If the bars help achieve the goal, then it’s ok but it’s not a train smash if they’re not there
What have been the highlights of your career so far, good and bad?
The good one would be me producing the whole of ASAPH’s album last yeah.
The bad one is when the audience threw bottles at us at one gig.

My latest track No Stress
Where in the world do you wish to perform one day?
At the Super Bowl in USA.
What is the most important lesson life has taught you?
What you put in is what you get out. You can’t expect something big if you’re not willing to pay a big price.
Bulawayo has been producing great talent recently, what’s your views on why that is?
Bulawayo has always been a hub of talent the only difference now is that the artists are starting to understand that we work better together than when we’re dividing.

Which artists would you like to work with and why?
I would love to work with J.Cole reason being he tells great day to day stories and he has a way to make an audience relate to his music and I am a great fan of that.
What can we expect from you this year?
This year you can expect more collaborations across Zimbabwe from me and a few videos here and there.
Who are your top 3 artists right now and why them?
Big Sean – He very musical and creative in my opinion. I’m not a bars person but I appreciate the whole package of the music production.
J. Cole – same reason I appreciate Big Sean.
Kwesta – I just appreciate the way he has that whole kasi vibe but he represents it in a very intelligent way.
If you could give up anything for a year what would it be and why?
My phone, I feel it’s the enemy of progress and it causes a lot of unnecessary distractions.

What is your favourite thing about being Zimbabwean?
I think because of our economic situation we have learnt to adjust to a lot of situations. Wherever you put us we will adapt and survive.
How would you like to be remembered?
I’d like to be remembered as the producer whose music changed and challenged people to become better version of themselves.
What advice would you give to upcoming young artists?
Stay hungry and consistent no matter what achievement or disappointment you meet.
