How did you get into vlogging and what do you enjoy most about being a vlogger?

I had been an avid YouTube-video-watcher for a long time, and becoming a vlogger was something I’d always joke about. The supposed joke started getting more serious and when my mom bought me my Canon 650D for my 17th birthday, I had no more excuses, so I just did it.

What I enjoy most about being a vlogger is the fact that I get to share my life, my likes, my interests, my dislikes, with so many people who can relate. It’s such a warm feeling knowing I’m able to touch people’s lives without even meeting them.

Who are your favourite vloggers?

This is always such a tough question for me to answer because I honestly have so many!! But to name a few in no particular order:

-Lisa Onuoha

-Alisha Marie

-Jess & Gabe

-Eva Gutowski

-Matt D’Avella

-Alissa Ashley

What inspired you to get into photography?

For as long as I can remember, I’ve been fascinated by cameras and the essence of being able to freeze moments in artistic ways. Once I got my own camera, I took photos of everything and anything, and that truly sparked joy for me.

What is your favourite thing about being a photographer?

Probably being able to turn just about anything into art. I love the endless creativity.

Who are your favourite photographers and why them?

Another tough question! To name a few:

-Brandon Woelful because of his creativity levels.

-Andre Nguyen because of his warm and colourful vibe.

Tatenda Sasa because he’s ALWAYS able to execute my visions for my shoots.

-The Odd Fray (aka Mainga) because his photography is so aesthetically pleasing.

-Peter McKinnon because he’s just such a beast. His composition is everything!

What is your favourite photograph that you have taken so far?

Statue of Liberty

Probably the one of The Statue of Liberty in New York City.

Who would you like to photograph given the chance and where in the world would be your ideal picture-perfect place?

I’ve never really thought this through before, but I’d definitely love to go on tour with an artist and be their personal photographer. I don’t have one specific artist in mind.

My ideal picture-perfect place is definitely Santorini, Greece! The entire place is such an aesthetic.

Who are your rocks in life?

God first, then my family.

What advice would you offer to someone getting into vlogging and photography?

JUST START! I do understand that it can be nerve-wracking going into a business or industry that one can say is quite saturated. I promise there is room for everyone to succeed if it’s something that you’re genuinely passionate about. Also, don’t hold yourself back in terms of creativity. Just do you, boo!

What are the top 5 most played songs in your playlist and why them?

Currently, they are

  1. Promises by Maverick City Music ft. Joe L. Barnes and Naomi Reine because it’s a constant reminder of God’s promises to me no matter how bad a situation I’m in may be.
  • Stuck with U by Ariana Grande and Justin Bieber because I’m a hopeless romantic and it’s simply a cute song; not to mention it’s by two of my favourite artists.
  • Baby I’m Jealous by Mr Eazi ft. King Promise because it’s just a vibe. I’m a Mr. Eazi fan.
  • Running on My Mind by Ali Gatie because it’s such a cute song honestly.
  • Hills and Valleys (The Valleys Version) by Tauren Wells because again, a reminder that God is with me no matter what I’m going through.

How would you like to be remembered?

I’d like to be remembered as that girl from a 3rd world country who didn’t stop at anything to make sure her dreams come true.

What are you most proud of about being Zambian?

I think being able to break the status quo about what Zambians can and can’t achieve is what makes me proud to be Zambian. I want to keep representing.
