In Conversation with: Mumhanzi

I’m  Mumhanzi a simple and humble guy with love of Zimbabwean music who believes in God as the Savior of mankind and I love sports football and soccer, I’m born and bred in the ghetto (chirokesheni) kkkk story of life….

How did you get into music?

I was born into music all my brothers would play reggae, my sisters rnb and my father Zimbabwean music, when I was of age I loved music I wanted to add value to music scene. I have been always the guy who can hype someone to success, so I became a publicist that was my entry level.

What inspires you to start Mumhanzi media and Zim music store?

Mumhanzi Media was a chance to unveil unknown and unheard talent in Zimbabwe, we wanted to make them seen and heard that’s how it all started with growth we started management of the same artist because they wanted representation to get shows and deals. Zim Music Store I’m just a small partner of amazing guys who have the vision I brought into that is to have Zimbabwean music in one place and make artist have business models for their craft (Vaimbi vanodawo kutenga zvinodhura)

What were your best and worst memories of 2017?

Best memories were all about the networks I created for myself and Mumhanzi Media, Shiddoh Brown having a national hit song and Miss Mcayz being nominated for best Female Zimbabwe Hip Hop awards, worst to are the lessons I don’t believe in losing, I learned you need to be out there more exposure is priceless.

Apart from being involved in music, what else do you enjoy doing?

I’m involved in ministry, I’m a part time motivational speaker and bible teacher.

What is your view on the current state of Zim music industry, what is good and what needs improving?

Zimbabwean music is on the rise people are looking at us thanks to people like Jah Prayzah who have  exposed us and pushed the limit , we have people shooting good videos and quality content , we need the industry the business side of things the structures , record labels which can invest a couple millions,  we need to start promoting the culture of buying music,  I blame Zimdancehall for that because big artist like Winky Dee and Freeman give out the whole album for free and cash in on shows.
