ShyEden -Zimbabwean artist

ShyEden is a Zimbabwean emerging artist, a very loving and passionate young lady, God fearing and empowering. I’m not perfect even though I try to be most of the time because strong and independent is who I am.

When did your music journey start?

My music journey started in 2016, I joined Zimpraise in that year and made friends with someone who then introduced me to the music school I would then attend. However, I started performing professionally when i got my first slot (Gig) at Queen of Hearts where I perform regularly now. That has been a platform to showcase and market my gift, it has opened doors for other experiences and it’s truly been an amazing experience. which I’m grateful to God for.

Which artists inspire you the most?

Ariana Grande 🖤

Drake

Jhene Aiko

Dua lipa

As well as a wide range of other singers. I listen to different artists and genres because I’m not in the same mood every day or moment, so music is meant to make you feel.

How would you describe your style of music?

I am more of a Soul singer (I write from my soul), but I am crazy about POP &EDM which you’ll hear in my latest single with UNION5- How Do You. You get the house side of me and the RNB side of me and a bunch of mixed emotions.

Where does the inspiration for your songs come from?

Funny enough and very cliché, experience, but on a serious note I usually write what I feel in the moment.

What do you hope people will get from listening to your music?

To be truly moved. To be carried by my voice and stirred by my lyrics.

Who have been your favourite artists to work with and who would you like to work with in the future?

My favourite artist to work with has been Union5, we have a number of projects that we’ve worked on. For future collaborations I would love to go global. Starting here at home but international is where my heart is.
